And like a slow day
you are bathed in sunlight;
the moving hours revolving
on your lips' weightless touches,
eyes describing the afternoon.
Here I am peaceful and
no one sees us behind
our nescient veil.
Under these clouds
I ask so you so many things,
and listen for your
stirring the way birds sing
in the brittle sky.
Hushed words and
unending bliss
populate our embrace;
and as the night
clenches the horizon
you come to me always;
robbing me of sadness,
replacing my longing
with your impassioned self.
And without belief
in ends nor farewells,
we enclose all the
eternities in our
deepening arches;
meandering kisses.
We struggle to depart;
and the sky
unwinds once more
its threaded darkness to lead me
to you,
beyond love
and this
night.
